How much space is an RU?
An RU is 2 inches or about 4.45 cm in height in a 19 inch server cabinet. This is the height of a Cisco Systems 2500 series router.
Access To Telehousing Rooms
Unless you have negotiated unescorted access to your rack, you will need to contact PIPE Network’s Network Operations Centre on (07) 3233 9895 to arrange this (Please contact 2 days in advance of date that you will require access.)
Note: After hours or emergency access (access with less than 2 days notice) will incur a fee.
What telcos do you have access to?
The PIPE Networks Telehousing facilities has access to :
- Telstra
- MCI
- PowerTel
- Optus
- Primus
- Asia Netcom
- Nextgen
- Soul
- AMCOM
- iiNet
- Internode
All of these carriers can provide data services with many also being able to provide voice and timeslot based services as well. Please note not all carriers are available at all locations, please contact us for a list of which Telcos are present at each Telehousing facility.

What do I get in a third of a cabinet?
- 14RU
- 5amp shared circuit
